Hey! Time to get started!
I want to welcome you to my first blog post, where we're diving headfirst into the exciting world of Digital Writing. I'm thrilled to have you join me on this incredible journey. So, let's talk about Week 1! We've been sailing through some fascinating readings and resources that will guide us as we navigate the vast ocean of digital content.
First off, we delved into "Net Smart" by Rheingold. It's like a treasure map to digital literacy! Chapters 1 and 2 opened our eyes to the importance of being smart in this digital age. Just like we need to be agile on the tennis court, we gotta stay sharp online too! Navigating all that info out there demands some serious skills. Next up, we had Driscoll et al.'s "Writing Spaces." Now, this one's all about spotting the real gems from the fakes in the digital sea. It's like being a savvy pirate, knowing which treasures are worth pursuing! The ability to tell credible sources from the not-so-credible ones is essential in our digital adventures. But wait, there's more! We had two extra cool readings in our learning module. McClure's "Googlepedia" showed us just how much those search engines impact our journey. It's like having a magical compass that guides us to whatever we seek. But with great power comes great responsibility, right? We gotta be aware of the info we find. Finally, Rheingold's "Attention, and Other 21st Century Literacies" – this one hit home for me! It's all about attention literacy, something we can all use in today's information-overloaded world. Staying focused is like staying on course during a storm at sea – it's crucial! I am sure you can tell that... this could be helpful on a tennis court.
Thats how I connect the dots. The focus and critical thinking I've sharpened in my major and tennis training totally come into play with digital writing. It's like using all your skills to navigate through rough waters. And I can already see how this knowledge will make my writing better and stronger. The best part is that I would've never guessed that. Moving on, I can't wait to apply all these valuable skills to our upcoming major assignments. I mean, imagine crafting compelling and persuasive messages that resonate with our readers – that's the ultimate treasure we're seeking!
Before we wrap up, I've got a question for you all! How do you stay on track in the vast ocean of digital information? Any tips or tricks you'd like to share?
Alright! Thanks for joining me on this wild ride through Week 1 of our Digital Writing adventure. Stay tuned for more thrilling posts as we explore new topics together!
See you soon.
